The Story Behind JJ Watt's Military Inspired Shoe

Earlier this year I received a call from my friends over at Reebok who had a mission for me. Travel out to Houston to film and photograph JJ Watt at his home along with one of his friends from the United States Navy SEAL community and a couple Reebok Designers. JJ was planning on designing a special edition of his Reebok JJ II training shoe, now called the JJ II Valor Edition, along with the Navy SEAL to honor members of the military during this holiday season. The challenge they had for me was to be a fly on the wall, capture enough video content to tell a story about the meeting and capture stills along the way. Out of respect for the SEAL, I was not allowed to bring any assistants/crew and I could only record his voice without ever showing his face on camera.

You can grab a pair of the JJ II Valor Edition training shoes at https://www.reebok.com/us/reebok-jj-ii-valor/DV8954.html

Reebok is donating a pair of JJ II Training shoes to the Navy SEAL Foundation along with every pair of the Valor Edition sold and JJ is donating all of his personal profits from the shoe to the The Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Foundation. The following video and stills were shot by Chris Cardoza of Doza Visuals.

This holiday season, for every pair of the JJ II Valor Edition purchased on Reebok.com, Reebok will be donating a pair of the JJ II training shoe to the Navy SEAL Foundation in honor of our nation's heroes and their families.
